Biography
1946 Born in Sapporo, Japan.
1969 Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Craft course.
1969-71 Studied Ceramic at École des Métiers d’Art, Paris.
1972-75 Studied Ceramics in West Africa.
1992 Awarded the prize “Takashimaya Culture Trust Fund”. 2001 Awarded Japan Ceramic Society Prize.
2008 Art Encouragement Prize of Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
