Shibunkaku is pleased to announce its first participation in Art Basel Hong Kong. We will bring together an array of works by Morita Shiryū, a pioneering avant-garde calligrapher in the 20th century, who challenged the notion that “calligraphy is not art” to establish postwar calligraphy as one of the genres in the context of international art world. The presentation will place significant works at the gallery’s booth (1D45) at the Convention & Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong, throughout the duration of the fair.
Shibunkaku Booth will also be presented by the Art Basel Online Viewing Room to showcase all works online in parallel with the physical show.
